George Henri Lantman (1875-1933) was edelsmid en metaalbewerker in Amsterdam. Tijdens zijn opleiding aan de School voor Kunstnijverheid in Haarlem kwam hij in contact met de bekende edelsmid Frans Zwollo sr. Ook ging hij in de leer bij een aantal werkplaatsen en ateliers voor kunstnijverheid in Amsterdam, o.a. van Carel Adolphe Lion Cachet. Na een korte periode bij de zilverfabriek C. J. Begeer te Utrecht was Lantman van 1912 tot 1933 als leraar edelsmeden verbonden aan de ‘Kunstnijverheidsschool Quellinus Amsterdam’. Hij nam in zijn tijd aan een aantal belangrijke nationale en internationale tentoonstellingen deel, waaronder de vermaarde ‘Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs & Industriels Modernes’ in Parijs in 1925. Zijn werk bevindt zich voornamelijk in privé-collecties en in een paar musea in Nederland en België.
